A global brand needed to launch a multilingual version of its website, but the site contained dynamic JavaScript, frequent content updates, and multiple subdomains. Using proxy technology and expert QA, we launched a scalable solution that ensured faster rollouts, consistent translations, and seamless experiences for international users.

The problem
From the start, the project presented several challenges. Dynamic JavaScript elements were not captured in the initial content extraction, creating gaps in the translation workflow.
The client also requested different translation scopes for the root site compared to its subdomains, adding complexity to the process.
On top of this, publishing required multiple CNAME values and SSL certificates, which introduced additional technical hurdles. Without a clear solution, the site risked inconsistent translations, SEO issues, and significant launch delays.
Our solution
We approached the project in three structured phases. First, our team refined the translation scope to focus on the right URLs, identified and captured missing JavaScript content, and loaded everything into MemoQ and the proxy workbench.Â
Next, we carried out a thorough quality assurance process, using MemoQ LiveView and proxy tools to validate translations in context. Temporary domains were created so the client could easily review and compare original versus translated content, while preferential terminology updates were stored in the translation memory to ensure long-term consistency.Â
Finally, we moved into publishing and post-launch fixes. Working with the client’s IT team, we set up the necessary CNAME values and SSLs, resolved a styling issue caused by expanded translated text through proxy-side CSS adjustments, and updated missing JavaScript strings in real time.
