The problem
JBT Aerotech provided aerospace equipment schematics in English that required translation into Spanish and Russian.
The project had multiple layers of complexity: translations had to be delivered in AutoCAD v14 format, only a handful of linguists were qualified in both aerospace subject matter and CAD, and the deadline was extremely tight.
Adding to the challenge, one of our key translators faced a medical emergency mid-project, just as critical files were due. Without a solution, JBT risked missing compliance deadlines and stalling product delivery.
Our solution
To meet the requirements, we sourced translators with proven CAD fluency and aerospace expertise.
Instead of a traditional workflow, we created a workaround by performing translations in Word and then adapting them back into AutoCAD, enabling faster turnaround and flexible scheduling.
When the emergency arose, we acted quickly. Our project manager coordinated with the translator to send files over the weekend while traveling, managing transfers via our secure FTP system.
Despite logistical hurdles, our agile approach allowed us to keep the project moving without compromising quality.
