<strong>David</strong> Utrilla

David Utrilla

President

David Utrilla founded U.S. Translation Company in 1995. In addition to heading the company as its CEO and president, David serves as the Honorary Consul of Peru to Utah, the Chair of the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the president of the World Trade Association of Utah, and vice president of the Utah Consular Corps. He is an advisory board member for the Weber State University School of Business and Economics and also the President’s National Advisory Council. He also serves on the World Trade Association Board of Directors. Over the course of his tenure with U.S. Translation Company, David and his firm have received numerous recognitions and awards. These include Top Forty Business Executives Under 40, Inc. 500/5000 for fastest growing companies in America, Utah’s Best of State, Mountain West Capital Network’s top 100 fastest growing companies in Utah, and the Small Business Person of the Year by the SBA. In 2014 he was awarded the Weber State University Distinguished Alumnus Award and in 2015 the Utah Valley University Atlas Award.

<strong>Dale</strong> Gibson

Dale Gibson

Chief Financial Officer

Dale was born in Palo Alto, California and grew up in San Jose, California where he graduated from high school. He lived for a couple of years in Spain and moved to Utah where he earned a BS in Finance from BYU and then got his MBA from the University of Utah with an emphasis in Accounting. Before working at US Translation Dale worked in a number of industries (medical device, food, defense, printing and financial management). He has worked in Accounting Management for a number of companies including as a Corporate Controller and as the owner of Gibson Consulting Services to help companies with their accounting needs. Dale enjoys spending time with his family of five children, a wife and four grandchildren. He has been involved as a baseball coach and soccer coach for over 15 years. He also enjoys skiing at the Utah ski resorts with his family and playing racquetball.

<strong>Kathy</strong> Sprouse

Kathy Sprouse

Operations Director

Kathy was born and raised in Texas. Before coming to U.S. Translation Company in 2004 Kathy worked with Bank of America as an International Currency Purchasing Agent in Japan and Korea. In addition to living in Japan, Kathy has lived in Georgia, Utah and now resides in North Carolina.  She handles all sales and operations for our growing east coast clients. With her 12+ years in the translation industry, she excels at solving even the most difficult and challenging translation or interpretation requests of her clients. Kathy enjoys spending time with her two sons and husband. Traveling is always on her top of her list of items to do. She enjoys scuba diving, boxing and heading to the beach.

<strong>Giovanna</strong> Roeseler

Giovanna Roeseler

Senior Project Manager

Giovanna was born in Ogden, Utah and is the oldest of three children. She graduated from Ogden High School and received an Associates Degree in Science from Snow College. In 2004 she earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Utah State University. Giovanna is married to her best friend Ryan, and has four children. Prior to U.S. Translation Company, Giovanna worked as a Case Manager at Weber Human Services. “Scrap booking, being a mom, and traveling – I’ve been to Hawaii, Scotland, England, and Italy and I hope to do more in the future!”

<strong>Amy</strong> Clements

Amy Clements

Desktop Publishing Manager

Amy was born in Clinton, Maryland and raised in West Valley City, Utah. She graduated from Hunter High School in 1998 and furthered her education at Utah Valley State College in Orem, Utah studying Accounting. Amy is married, has 3 beautiful little girls, and 2 Labrador Retrievers. Before coming to U.S. Translation Company, Amy worked at UPS for 11 years as a Field Support Representative. There, she assisted the Account Manager’s with customer service, maintaining accounts, and researching issues with customer invoices. “I love to be with my family. My husband and girls are the best thing that ever happened to me. We love to go out to the lake on our wave runners, barbecue, play with our dogs and watch movies together. I like to craft when I can find the time.”

Dana Hardy

Dana is responsible for accounting at U.S. Translation Company. She has extensive experience in the field of finances, and services many other firms with her professional approach to business accounting. Dana has a great personality and is dedicated to her work in the translation services industry.

Karen Stevens

Karen Stevens

Localization Manager

Before starting as USTC’s Localization Manager, Karen Stevens worked as an Operations Manager in the quality assurance department of a market research firm. She has a Master’s degree in Linguistics and Literature (English and Swedish) and speaks Dutch (her native language), French, English, and Swedish. Additionally, she has a basic understanding of Spanish and German. Karen originally hailed from Belgium, but has also lived in Sweden, Iceland, and Southern California.

<strong>Jacob</strong> Andra

Jacob Andra

Senior Industry Analyst

Prior to joining U.S. Translation Company, Jacob served as digital marketing director for a Utah-based aerospace manufacturer. As part of his marketing outreach, he gained breadth and depth of insight into the aerospace industry and the manufacturing process, including composite materials and their methods of manufacture, defense contracts, EU regulations, supply chain management, quality control and more. He’s also worked in a biomedical lab, performing cardiomyocyte electrostimulation research. In his spare time, Jacob enjoys his family, sudoku, reading, cycling, outdoors activities, camping and travel. He loves to study history, learn about different cultures and ideas, follow world events, and think deep thoughts.

Requirements
  • Proof of certification, accreditation, diploma or other translation / interpretation training
  • Three (3) professional client recommendations
  • Outline of professional work history
  • Translators:
    • Five (5) years professional experience, with at least two years experience in life sciences, manufacturing, engineering, or government-related translation
    • College degree (copy of diploma required)
    • CAT Software use and proficiency (emphasis on work with MemoQ and Trados)
    • Affiliation with proofreader
    • Must pass USTC translator test (250 words)
  • Interpreters: five (5) years professional experience with simultaneous interpretation, preferably in the context of conventions, conferences and other large events.
