How it works
As the linguist translates, they see the original text in the documents and replace it with translated text. linguists translate sentence by sentence, or in the case where the concept of a sentence is not applicable (for example catalogs), text segment by text segment. When they translate a sentence, it's added to a memory that recalls all of the previously translated portions and their corresponding translations. If the TM software finds a translated segment already stored in the memory, it provides a match. It can even provide information on whether the translation has been used in the same context or not.
Linguists also have the capability of building a glossary on the fly. Expressions that are added can be highlighted and suggested for automatic insertion if the source sentence or segment contains those terms. the glossary can also assist in avoidance of certain words.
With one click linguists can highlight a term or expression and get each and every sentence including the translations that contain the expression.
